This is a new blog which will be featuring my guitars and methods of making them. Would love to have some conversations about guitar making and various methods. Currently making a dreadnaught and a “000′ style out of East indian Rosewood, Adirondak spruce top, Mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard. The “000″ is a wedge tapered body with an armrest. Thanks, Robert

A guitar armrest seems to be coming up a lot. Besides a client inquiry I see them in ads and magazines more often. Anyway seems like a good Idea, right? It is, definitely more comfortable and easy on the picking arm. It’s a real plus for some people and combined with a tapered body design (Linda Manzer style) and you’ve got one comfy, easier to see the fingerboard while standing, playing guitar with no loss of sound. You’ve seen” Escape to Alcatraz”? It wasn’t easy bro. although quite doable.
